MTR Foods has found a fresh way to talk about festive sweets. Its campaign, 'India's Sweetest Language', treats mithai as communication, not just confection. Three assets anchor it: an illustrated book, a digital film and a wider sweets range.
The Book and Film Give Emotion a Voice
The book collects words and phrases used while sharing sweets across Indian languages. Limericks and everyday festive moments explain each one. 'Ek aur lo', 'Olleyadagali' and 'Aavta rehjo' feature in its pages. Each phrase gains extra warmth when a sweet comes with it.
The digital film carries the idea forward. A young girl finds the book at a festive community gathering. As she turns the pages, the expressions come alive. Care, blessings and family reunions unfold on screen.
A Portfolio Built to Back the Story
The timing is deliberate. MTR is expanding its sweets portfolio alongside the campaign. Mysore Pak, Gulab Jamun and Coconut Burfi sit in the range. New offerings add ghee, jaggery and dates. New formats are also on the way.
The Last Word
Language is becoming a branding asset. MTR links regional expressions to a product that people hand to each other. That makes the campaign easy to localise and easy to extend. Expect more brands to mine everyday phrases for emotional equity. The real test will be whether the new range converts this goodwill into repeat purchase beyond the festive season.
