Meta has launched Meta One, a subscription spanning Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI. In India, plans start at ₹79 per month.
The company is introducing more than 50 features across its apps. Their core experiences will remain free. Meta plans to extend the offering to Edits and its AI glasses over time.
Meta Puts a Price on Premium Access
For individuals, Instagram Plus costs ₹99 monthly. It offers custom fonts, selected Story-view notifications and DM previews. WhatsApp Plus, at ₹79, adds themes, icons, special-effect stickers and more pinned chats. Facebook Plus, at ₹99, includes custom app icons, Super Hearts and other personalisation features.
As AI features expand across Edits and AI glasses, subscriptions could become a broader monetisation layer. They may also generate new behavioural signals around how users consume and create content.
AI Could Become the Bigger Subscription Driver
Meta One’s Core plan costs ₹549 monthly. It combines individual app benefits with higher AI usage, including image and video generation through Meta AI, Instagram Restyle and voice effects. The Premium plan costs ₹1,950 monthly, with higher access to Meta’s AI tools.
For marketers, the longer-term implication is significant. Meta is building a paid layer around AI, personalisation and enhanced experiences while keeping advertising at the centre of its free ecosystem.
The Last Word
Meta One points towards a future where Meta monetises the same user across two engines—advertising at scale and paid access to increasingly powerful AI experiences.
