HIT Turns Cockroach Control Into a War-Room Strategy

Godrej HIT has launched a new TVC for HIT Anti Roach Gel featuring actor Shefali Shah.

Created by Lightbox, Godrej Consumer Products’ in-house creative studio, the film uses a military-style war room to dramatise cockroach control. It opens with a sniper reporting a large infestation to headquarters. Shah then changes the strategy.

From Snipers To Source Control

Instead of chasing individual cockroaches, Shah introduces the gel as a way to tackle the infestation at its source.

The film shows the product being applied in corners, cracks and crevices. Its effect is then depicted spreading through the nest.

For marketers, the campaign demonstrates how a functional product benefit can be made instantly understandable through a familiar strategic metaphor. The communication closes with the proposition, ‘Cockroachon Ko Jad Se Maare’.

Selling Convenience, Not Just Pest Control

The campaign extends HIT Anti Roach Gel’s existing positioning around nest-level action. GCPL says consumer preference is shifting towards “set-and-forget” formats, particularly in kitchens.

Neeraj Senguttuvan, Head of Marketing, Home Care, GCPL, said gel formats are increasingly preferred because they address the wider infestation rather than only visible cockroaches. The war-room device also gives the category a more memorable visual language.

The Last Word

As household brands compete on convenience, the next marketing advantage may come from making product mechanics as easy to understand as the consumer problem itself.
