Anthropic Brings Shared AI Workflows to Slack with New ‘Claude Tag’ Feature

Anthropic has introduced Claude Tag, a new Slack integration that turns its AI model Claude into a shared workplace participant rather than a one-on-one chatbot. Available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers, the feature allows employees to summon AI into conversations using “@Claude”, delegate tasks, analyse information and receive updates within Slack threads. AI moves from assistant to teammate Unlike conventional AI chat interfaces, Claude Tag operates with persistent context. It can follow channel discussions, retain relevant information over time, break projects into multiple steps and proactively surface updates when enabled by administrators. Anthropic says organisations can control which channels, tools and datasets the AI can access. The company plans to expand the capability beyond Slack in the coming months. Why marketers should pay attention The significance of Claude Tag is not the Slack integration itself. It is the shift from AI as an individual productivity tool to AI as a collaborative workflow layer. For agencies, publishers and marketing teams, this points towards a future where AI participates inside campaign planning channels, creative reviews, media operations and client servicing workflows. Instead of employees leaving collaboration platforms to use AI tools, the AI increasingly sits where work already happens. This also raises new questions around governance, knowledge management and accountability. As AI gains visibility across team conversations, the competitive advantage may come less from access to models and more from how organisations structure information and workflows around them. Our insight The next phase of enterprise AI adoption may not be about better prompts. It may be about which AI becomes the most useful colleague inside the tools teams already use every day.
