Ahead of International Beer Day on August 7, AB InBev has unveiled 'Cheers to Beer', a global campaign celebrating beer as a symbol of togetherness across cultures and generations. Created in partnership with Wieden+Kennedy, the brand film captures the universal ritual of raising a toast, positioning beer as a catalyst for shared experiences rather than simply a beverage.
The campaign will roll out across international markets, reinforcing AB InBev's strategy of building emotional relevance while strengthening the cultural role of its category.
Data Shapes the Narrative
Alongside the campaign, the brewer released findings from a whitepaper by Ipsos and IWSR, highlighting changing consumer preferences. The study found that 73% of legal drinking-age adults who consume alcohol choose beer. It also revealed that beer contributes nearly 93% of global no-alcohol beverage volume, underlining the category's leadership as consumers increasingly embrace moderation, premiumisation, convenience and flavour-led innovation.
The campaign also follows AB InBev's strong Q2 2026 performance. The company reported 5.6% revenue growth, 1.1% beer volume growth, 27% growth in its no-alcohol beer portfolio, 44% growth in Beyond Beer and 13% growth in its Balanced Choices portfolio.
A Campaign Built Around Connection
For marketers, the campaign demonstrates how data-backed storytelling can elevate category marketing beyond product promotion. As drinking habits diversify, brands are balancing heritage with innovation to remain culturally relevant across generations.
The Last Word
The future of beverage marketing will belong to brands that celebrate consumption occasions while evolving with changing consumer lifestyles—not just changing consumer tastes.
