Nykaa and independent creative agency SW Network have launched 'Hotel Wanderlust'. It is a six-episode microdrama series for Nykaa Wanderlust, the brand's experiential bath and body care range.
The Series: Six Episodes, One Quirky Hotel
The story unfolds in a fictional hotel. Comedian and actor Varun Thakur stars alongside Shachi, who plays a receptionist with a set of quirks.
Each episode brings a new guest. Creators Srishti Garg, Pulkit Kochar and Mishall B navigate different everyday situations. The format keeps stories short, light and easy to binge.
The Numbers: Product as Plot
Nykaa Wanderlust products are woven into the storyline. These include body mists, perfumes, shower gels and lotions. There are no standalone ad breaks.
The early result is notable. According to SW Network, the series has clocked close to a million views across its six episodes within two weeks of launch. That averages roughly 165,000 views per episode.
The agency says the format rests on audience research and storytelling techniques tailored to short-form content.
The Last Word
Microdrama is turning brand messaging into habit-forming content. When products sit inside the story, viewers stay for the plot, not the pitch. Beauty brands that pair creator casting with serialised formats could build loyal audiences and lower reliance on interruptive ads.
