Clinic Plus has released a new Daughters’ Day film under its #MeriBetiStrong campaign. The film explores a reversal of the traditional mother-daughter dynamic. Its central thought is ‘Maa ki Majboori nahi, Beti Hoti hai Maa ki Mazbooti’.
When The Daughter Becomes The Anchor
The story begins at a book launch. A mother is asked what inspired her collection of poems. She points towards her daughter.
The film then moves into a childhood flashback. As the daughter grows older, she starts noticing the compromises her mother makes within her marriage.
While others ask the mother to adjust, her daughter encourages her to consider a different path.
For marketers, the film extends the familiar parenting proposition beyond childhood. It positions strength as something that can move between generations.
From Raising A Strong Daughter To Finding Strength In Her
The narrative follows the daughter as she moves from observation to action. She supports her mother as she chooses to rebuild her life on her own terms.
The story eventually returns to the book launch. The mother publicly acknowledges her daughter as her source of strength. Harman Dhillon, executive director, beauty & wellbeing, HUL, said the film celebrates how the confidence and independence a mother instils in her daughter can eventually become her own support system.
The brand has dedicated the story to 1.3 crore single mothers across India, according to the campaign statement.
The Last Word
Clinic Plus shifts the conversation from raising strong daughters to showing how that strength can come full circle and reshape a mother’s life.
